Things to do in and around Fort William…
For the thrill seekers among us Glencoe Mountain and Nevis Range North of Fort William are open all year round offering snow sports in the winter and a range of other activities in summertime such as mountain biking, high wire adventure and tubing. We are perfectly situated halfway between them both.
Glencoe activities just a couple of miles from us offer land and water based activities such as segway, archery, canyoning and Via Ferrata. Also fast boat experiences with Seaxplorer, fun yakking and river bugging.
For golfers, there is the stunningly beautiful Dragon’s Tooth golf course. Set among the most beautiful scenery and steeped in some of the most chilling of Scottish history, it truly is unparalleled. The views alone are sure to make it difficult to concentrate of your golf.
Visit our local nature reserve at Highland Titles, a unique local enterprise which seeks to help preserve and encourage protection of wildlife in the West Highlands and see the fabulous work they’re doing.
Take a trip from Fort William to Mallaig over the awesome Glenfinnan viaduct on the Jacobite steam train which featured in the Harry Potter films.
There are various visitor centres and museums in the area, including The Glenfinnan Visitor Centre which documents Bonnie Prince Charlie’s landing in Lochaber and the subsequent 1745 rebellion. The Clan Cameron museum at Achnacarry, Glencoe National Trust and Visitor Centre, Glencoe North Lorn Museum in Glencoe village and The West Highland Museum in Fort William. A must for all history lovers.
